HOUSTON NEPHROLOGY GROUP PA is Hiring a Surgery Scheduler/Medical Assistant Near Houston, TX

Introduction:

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Surgery Scheduler/Medical Assistant to join our team and provide high-quality care to our patients. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

Scheduling Responsibilities:

  • Monitors, coordinates, and manages all surgical scheduling tasks for assigned providers.
  • Work with insurance companies to get prior authorization for patients.
  • Communicates information to patients and families.
  • Reviews surgical procedures with patients, provides education/review of necessary documents, and secures patient’s signatures on required documents.
  • Confirms surgical and diagnostic appointments with the appropriate facilities and ensures timely delivery of appropriate documents.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities:

  • **This position requires MA to float across HNG clinics to help with staffing needs**
  • Assist with medication management and administration, as directed by a healthcare professional.
  • Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the physician.
  • Obtain results of all outpatient testing.
  • Check STAT labs and inform Physicians as soon as possible.
  • Communicate with patients and families to provide education and support.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure continuity of treatment.
  • May also be required to schedule patient appointments and ensure medical necessity compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgery Scheduler and Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and assist patients with mobility, as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
